Our Mission

Committed to Catching and Saving Stray or Abandoned Dogs

Cooper’s Co-Op is a “Safe Stayover” for the many stray and neglected dogs in the Gila Bend area. We provide shelter, food, rest, walks, playtime, beds, and a secure environment as they wait for a County Shelter, or a Rescue Organization to take them in. When possible, we may provide medical assistance.

Our Vision

In addition to the “Safe Stayover,” we hope to provide resources and sponsor activities such as Spay & Neuter Mobile Clinics, Vaccination Clinics, and Educational Information on controlling the dog population for the Town of Gila Bend residents. We understand that most Shelters do humanely
euthanize dogs. One of our desires; if a dog retrieved by us is ever on the Euthanize List for behavioral concerns, and we feel we can intervene, we will bring the dog back to Cooper’s Co-Op to assist in its successful transformation to be an adoptable dog.

In certain circumstances, we may hold onto a stray dog to offer medical attention, rehabilitation, vaccinate, spay/neuter, and to find a furever home.
